As we’ve made progress towards equality and the workplace is opened up, women the world over face difficulties choosing between family life and careers.

This series takes the image of an egg - a frequent subject for photographers learning to light objects, and places it in scenes to tell the story of female fertility over time. 

Caged, Released, Constrained, Cooling Off, On Ice, Too Late. 

Is this all that I am? A timeline?

This series was inspired by conversations with a mentor about the direction of my career as a young woman. This mentor emphasised the need for me to plan my career according to my biological clock as it is TICK TICK TICKING!

We’ve long seen the dichotomy between women ‘at home’ and women ‘in the workplace’ but are these actually two conflicting ideas?
